Portland Metro Area Resources

  • Q Center (Portland LGBTQ Community Center) – Portland’s primary LGBTQ+ community center, offering support groups (for gender identity, addiction recovery, veterans, seniors, youth under 18), social activities, events, and a comprehensive referral directory for local resources.
  • Prism Health – A Portland clinic (operated by Cascade AIDS Project) dedicated to LGBTQ+ affirming healthcare. Prism Health provides compassionate primary care, behavioral health counseling, gender-affirming care, and STI testing in a welcoming environment.
  • Outside In – A nonprofit health clinic serving youth and young adults (including LGBTQIA2S+ youth), especially those experiencing homelessness or other challenges. Outside In offers judgment-free primary care, mental health counseling, transgender health care, HIV/STI testing, housing support, and a drop-in center (“Queer Zone”) in a safe, affirming environment.

  • OHSU Transgender Health Program – A specialized program at Oregon Health & Science University supporting transgender and gender-diverse individuals of all ages. The program helps patients access gender-affirming medical care and surgery, provides information and advocacy, and connects clients with OHSU providers who are experts in transgender health.
  • Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) – A longstanding Portland-based nonprofit offering HIV/AIDS testing, education, and support services. CAP provides housing assistance, peer support, medical case management, and culturally specific services for people living with HIV.
  • SMYRC (Sexual & Gender Minority Youth Resource Center) – Operates a safe drop-in space in Portland for LGBTQ+ youth ages 13–23. SMYRC provides a harassment-free community center where youth can engage in art, music, open mic nights, drag shows, leadership opportunities, and support groups.
  • Bradley Angle’s LGBTQ Program “Marsha’s Folx”– A domestic violence support program in Portland that serves anyone affected by intimate partner violence, inclusive of all genders and sexual orientations.   • Native American Youth and Family Center (NAYA) – Two-Spirit & LGBTQ Support – NAYA is a multi-service organization for Native American families in Portland that also provides dedicated Two-Spirit and LGBTQ+ support groups and cultural events. These programs offer a space for Indigenous LGBTQIA2S+ community members to connect with culture and receive support.
  • UNITED TERRITORIES OF PACIFIC ISLANDERS ALLIANCE – PORTLAND – A nonprofit run by and for queer and trans Pacific Islanders established in 2017.
  • Portland Two-Spirit Society (P2SS) – A social, cultural, and educational group for Two-Spirit individuals (LGBTQ Native American/Alaska Natives) and their families in the Portland area.
  • Northwest Gender Alliance (NWGA) – A non-profit social support and educational group for transgender and gender expansive individuals in the Portland–Vancouver area. NWGA is one of the oldest continuously operating transgender support organizations in the country.
  • Marie Equi Center – A community health and wellness program in Portland (named after an early 20th-century LGBTQ+ activist) that provides trans and queer-friendly services. The Marie Equi Center offers resources such as housing navigation, health education, harm reduction supplies, and peer-led recovery meetings, all in a affirming space.

Oregon Statewide Resources

  • Oregon Family Support Network – Resource page for Oregon and National organizations
  • Basic Rights Oregon (BRO) – The state’s leading LGBTQ+ advocacy organization. Basic Rights Oregon fights for policies and laws that promote equality and meet the needs of LGBTQIA2S+ Oregonians, working in areas such as non-discrimination, transgender justice, and racial equity.
  • PFLAG Oregon (Multiple Chapters) – PFLAG has chapters throughout Oregon – from large cities to rural areas – all focused on supporting families and friends of LGBTQ+ people through love, education, and advocacy.
  • TransPonder (Eugene) – A Eugene-based non-profit founded and led by transgender people, providing support, resources, and education for the transgender and gender-diverse community statewide. TransPonder offers support groups, health and legal resource navigation, community events, and training programs to promote understanding of trans identities in Oregon.
  • Rainbow Youth (Marion & Polk Counties) – An organization serving LGBTQIA+ youth in the Salem area (Marion and Polk counties). They host regular support meetings for youth (typically under 18) and social activities to foster connection and acceptance in the community,
  • Mid-Willamette Trans Support Network – A grassroots support network for transgender, nonbinary, intersex, and gender-expansive people in the mid-Willamette Valley (covering Linn, Benton, and Lincoln counties). This volunteer-run group connects trans/gender-diverse people and their families with peer support, resources, and community events in towns like Corvallis, Albany, and Newport.

Southwest Washington (Vancouver Area) Resources

  • Queer Youth Resource Center (QYRC) – A 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving LGBTQ+ youth ages 12–24 in Vancouver and the greater Southwest Washington area. QYRC operates a drop-in center and community hub where queer and trans youth can find support, safety, and empowerment.
  • PFLAG Vancouver – The local PFLAG chapter serving the Vancouver/Clark County region. PFLAG Southwest Washington supports parents, families, and allies of LGBTQ+ individuals by providing monthly support meetings and educational resources. Their mission is to foster a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people through family support, outreach, and advocacy.
  • Clark County Pride – A community-led LGBTQ+ organization in Southwest Washington hosting an annual rainbow walk.
  • Clark County TeenTalk – A nonjudgmental peer-to-peer support line for teens in the Clark County/Vancouver area. TeenTalk is a program where trained teens are available to listen and help their peers on a variety of topics – from school stress to relationships or coming-out questions. It provides a safe, confidential space via phone, text, or online for youth to discuss LGBTQ+ topics or any concerns.
